{"id":10,"date":"2007-11-21T11:52:55","date_gmt":"2007-11-21T15:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/blog\/?p=10"},"modified":"2007-11-23T09:27:22","modified_gmt":"2007-11-23T13:27:22","slug":"traffic-alert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/blog\/?p=10","title":{"rendered":"Traffic Alert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">Traffic patterns routed into GS Development!! <\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\"> <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><strong><u>Background:<\/u><\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">As phase 4 of the GS development was opened up, residents started seeing more and more through traffic on <\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">16th Ave. in the development.<span>  <\/span>At that time the advisory committee suggested to the developer that the lot that would continue 18<sup>th<\/sup> Ave be sold for a house and that North Bay would route around the pond and would then come out on Edson.<span>  <\/span>The developer agreed that this would be a good idea and proposed this to the Georgetown Township Planning commission in mid 2005.<span>  <\/span><span> <\/span>We submitted a letter in this regard that can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/archive\/Plannning%20Commission%20August%2009%202005.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Letter to Township\">here<\/a>.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">The Township planning commission told us that they observed the traffic pattern and the only cars that were traveling through our development were cars that were destined for houses on <\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">16<sup>th<\/sup> Ave and North Bay.<span>  <\/span>They declined the request to close the street.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">Since this time the layout of Phase 6 has changed and there is no longer a street that goes all the way around the pond.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><strong><u>Now:<\/u><\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">Phase 6 is completed and the road closed signs were just taken down on Nov. 20<sup>th<\/sup>.<span>  <\/span>They have placed a stop sign on Edson but no stop or directional sign for <\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">18<sup>th<\/sup> Ave.  <\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">I have called the Ottawa County Road Commission and have been told that the traffic flow for <\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">18<sup>th<\/sup> Ave is now down North Bay and down 16<sup>th<\/sup> Ave. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">This road is not constructed to handle this type of traffic and cars are generally parked on the street.<span>  <\/span>I have also contacted Georgetown township and asked that this be reviewed along with sending a copy of the background letter.<\/font><font face=\"Times New Roman\">  More to follow.<\/font><\/p>\n<p>Discuss this topic on the forum by going to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/forum\/viewtopic.php?p=4#4\" title=\"Forum Traffic Discussion\">this link.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/forum\/viewtopic.php?p=4#4\">http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/forum\/viewtopic.php?p=4#4<\/a><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Times New Roman\">-rap<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Traffic patterns routed into GS Development!!
