{"id":349,"date":"2014-06-04T10:42:27","date_gmt":"2014-06-04T15:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/blog\/?p=349"},"modified":"2014-06-04T10:42:36","modified_gmt":"2014-06-04T15:42:36","slug":"womens-driving-clinic-and-stand-up-paddleboard-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/blog\/?p=349","title":{"rendered":"Women&#8217;s Driving Clinic and Stand Up Paddleboard Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first activity this year is the <strong>Women\u2019s Driving Clinic<\/strong> on <strong>June 14<\/strong> sponsored by Action Water Sports (AWS).\u00a0 Contact Action if you are interested.\u00a0\u00a0 There is a discount for GS residents and any money raised goes toward Breast Cancer Research.\u00a0 This is a great way to have fun driving a new boat and learn or polish up your skills at driving and docking.\u00a0 It starts at 9:00 am and will be done by 11:00.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/AWSPaddleBoardSeriesEmail.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-350 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/AWSPaddleBoardSeriesEmail-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"AWSPaddleBoardSeriesEmail\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/AWSPaddleBoardSeriesEmail-225x300.jpg 225w, http:\/\/www.georgetownshores.org\/private\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/AWSPaddleBoardSeriesEmail.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then the staff from Action will be starting the Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) event at 11:00 am over by the launch. Below are the details of what we will be bringing for that event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; AWS will provide 6 identical 12&#8242; 6&#8243; Bic paddleboards w\/ paddles to be used for the race. Plus they will bring 2-3 additional boards for people to use who have no interest in participating in the race but would still like to learn how to paddle board<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The course will be set up just off shore, near the boat launch.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The race is held with up to 6 participants paddling the course at a time and the top qualifiers advance to the next round.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; No experience is necessary so anyone can show up and participate in the race, and it is completely free to participants.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The winning male and female for the event will each receive a $50 gift card to AWS.<\/p>\n<p>Here is more information on the SUP event<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Wakeboard Event<\/strong> that was held last year was a huge success.\u00a0 We are working to bring it back again this year.\u00a0 Stay tuned for more information on that.<\/p>\n<p>We have a great neighborhood and a lot of fun.
