style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">A few friendly reminders from your Safety Committee&#8230;<\/font><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">The Safety Committee shall serve to educate and promote all safety issues that pertain to G<\/font><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">eorgetown <\/font><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">Shores.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">We would also like to identify a few items that have already been brought to our attention in regard to Safe Boating Concerns.<\/font><\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><\/font><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">1.<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>State law specifies that when boating you should generally follow a counter-clockwise direction.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Adherence to this rule is especially important when other boats are present.<\/font><\/span> <\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">2.<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Following directly in the path of a boat that is towing someone is dangerous.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Keep a safe distance and try not to follow directly behind; stay off to one side or the other of the boat ahead.<\/font><\/span><\/font><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\"> <\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">3.<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>State law requires keeping a distance of at least 100\u2019 from other boats or docks when cruising.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Driving too close to docks and other objects is a very dangerous practice.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">4.<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Sitting on the top of the seat or the side of the boat while driving is dangerous.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>You could fall out and be struck by another boat or your own boat.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\"><span><\/span><\/font><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">5.<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>When towing someone who falls, use the shortest path possible to retrieve them (avoid wide, sweeping turns).<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Please keep your boat near the person who is in the water.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">6.<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>State law specifies that when towing someone behind your boat you need to have an observer in the boat to watch the individual being towed.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Please keep your attention in the direction of travel.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Knowing where others are on the lake is important.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The driver\u2019s first priority is to pay attention to what\u2019s going on ahead of the boat.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Adherence to this rule is especially important when other boats are present.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">7.<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Please do not swim across the lake without a floating marker.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>This could be a tube of some sort or a boat.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Adherence to this rule is especially important when other boats are present.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">8.<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>If you see something floating in the water, (sticks, chunks of wood, bottles, cans) please pick them up and remove them from the water.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Use care when boating for the first time in the spring.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\">9.<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Please use common sense.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt\"><\/span><span
