Association Informational Meeting Sat April 25th at 9:00 am

Originally sent to all residents on Feb 18, 2015

To: EGSLA Residents

From: EGSLA Interim Board of Directors

Dear EGSLA Resident,

As your EGSLA Interim Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce a new method for collecting the input of each and every resident.  Beginning this year, we will be moving the official business of the association online, making use of online voting capabilities to ensure all residence have an opportunity to participate.  In the past, we have had difficulties achieving a quorum at a physical Annual Meeting.  This new method will allow the association to conduct official business in a more flexible and convenient way.

Because of our move to on-line voting, it is ever more important that we have your e-mail address.  We have the addresses for 90% of the residents but some have not provided their address to us.  If you are unsure, please go to the web site as listed on the lower portion of the invoice page and fill out the form (there is a link on the top of the web page).  The on-line voting process will send you a unique login via e-mail for you to go in and vote.  We expect to have our voting annually in the spring.

Although the official business will be conducted electronically, we believe it is important to continue to hold an annual informational meeting at which the board can provide an update of the progress made within the association and any questions or concerns can be raised.  We will also plan to discuss the capital improvements we have listed on the financial statement printed on the back of this page as well as the budget for 2015.  The informational meeting for 2015 will be held in the Fellowship Room (North entrance) at Hillcrest CRC, located at 3617 Hillcrest in Hudsonville, Sat. April 25, 2015 at 9:00 AM.  We look forward to seeing all those interested in attending at this meeting.

Thank you.

Garage Sale

Neighborhood Garage Sale
Thursday April 16 from 9-4 &
Friday April 17 from 9-4

Posting from Kim Scholten:
Plan to join the neighborhood garage sale this year on Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17! The sale will be open from 9-4 each day!

We ask that you be mindful of the school buses trying to get through in the early mornings and not open early to avoid traffic in the neighborhood and for the safety of the kids and buses!

We will take care of posting signs on all of the street corners but ask if you could possibly please mark your own home the day of the sales. Our signs are starting to break and we are in need of replacing some, so this year I am asking for five dollars per house involved in the garage sale. I will use that money to replace the signs and also to place an ad in the advance if I have enough funds. Please place your five dollars in an envelope with your name and address and specific items you may be selling so I can mark all necessary corners with signs and have an accurate number of homes involved to include in ads! Please get this to Kim Scholten at 5956 16th ave. If you are interested in participating this year!

Any questions please call Kim at 667-9290.

Women’s Driving Clinic and Stand Up Paddleboard Event

The first activity this year is the Women’s Driving Clinic on June 14 sponsored by Action Water Sports (AWS).  Contact Action if you are interested.   There is a discount for GS residents and any money raised goes toward Breast Cancer Research.  This is a great way to have fun driving a new boat and learn or polish up your skills at driving and docking.  It starts at 9:00 am and will be done by 11:00.AWSPaddleBoardSeriesEmail

Then the staff from Action will be starting the Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) event at 11:00 am over by the launch. Below are the details of what we will be bringing for that event.

– AWS will provide 6 identical 12′ 6″ Bic paddleboards w/ paddles to be used for the race. Plus they will bring 2-3 additional boards for people to use who have no interest in participating in the race but would still like to learn how to paddle board

– The course will be set up just off shore, near the boat launch.

– The race is held with up to 6 participants paddling the course at a time and the top qualifiers advance to the next round.

– No experience is necessary so anyone can show up and participate in the race, and it is completely free to participants.

– The winning male and female for the event will each receive a $50 gift card to AWS.

Here is more information on the SUP event

The Wakeboard Event that was held last year was a huge success.  We are working to bring it back again this year.  Stay tuned for more information on that.

We have a great neighborhood and a lot of fun. Thanks again for your cooperation. We hope to keep the fun rolling!!
