Photos of our Resident Eagles

Our residents Greg and Peg Scott sent over some nice photos of our resident eagles.  Perched in a tree on the South side of the lake.

They are a wonderful bird to watch hunt in the lake area and anyone who has photos please pass them along.

I have also heard that someone has a video of them hunting and I would like to post that on the web site also if you would send that over.

Resident’s Meeting – April 16, 2011 at 9:00 am

We are planning to have an Resident’s meeting on Saturday, April 16th at 9:00 am. It has been a number of years since we have attempted to have a residents meeting.

The meeting will be held in the basement community room at the City of Hudsonville offices at 3275 Central Blvd in Hudsonville. The meeting should not take too long and we would like to have a good attendance of residents.

We also want to encourage you to take along a pair of gloves and a rake so we can do some clean-up around the community after the meeting. The items we are going to work on are:

  1. Weed and place mulch around the entrance signs
  2. Rake stones from the new grass at the boat launch area
  3. Clean up sand at the boat launch area
  4. Clean up trash along the berm on VanBuren and 14th Ave.

Resident Only Fishing

GS Residents,

There are many ice fishermen out on the ice recently and it is nice that our residents can go out and fish during these winter months.  However there are reports that some of the fishermen do not live here and are just parking on the streets and walking out on the lake.

A number of residents spent substantial money stocking the lake with fish over the past number of years and the most recent planting was just this past October.  A delivery of 455 walleyes were delivered and planted in the lake for all of us residents.  These fish need to get a chance to grow so please return them if you catch one but also they are placed in the lake for the fun and enjoyment of the residents and close friends, not everyone who decides they want to fish here.

We want to encourage you if you see those from outside to either talk to them nicely and tell them that this is a private lake or at least attach this document to their vehicle.

Thank you.

Letter from EverKept on Sat. Dec. 4:

I understand this is an undesirable situation for you.  It wasn’t our intention to cause you so much grief.  These circumstances were unforeseen by you, and certainly offer up unique circumstances.  We felt that delivering the carts would give a tangible understanding of what EverKept is offering- specifically the 96 gallon recycling cart.  We are very passionate about what we do, we are excited about the impact it makes on the environment and the local economy.

Understanding this was disagreeable, and completely out of your control, it presents an opportunity to understand our services.  Left with this situation, and the new realization of how many families EverKept already serves has changed things.  Certainly in regards to Arrowaste and your previous arrangement.  Looking back at the advisory boards original intent of providing better pricing and one hauler the current circumstances serve those intentions.

As of current, many families have already started up service and some have called to have their carts removed, or removed until this is sorted out.  We have our delivery drivers promptly serving multiple times per day in this effort.  We understand  this puts the board in an unpleasant situation of recommending what is best for the residents, in light of your previous arrangements.

Please find the attached copy of our recycle cart guidelines and a copy of the recycle schedule. Feel free to share them with the residents.  The attached information is recycle and redrecyclecalender.

Sincerely,

Chad Stoub
